Shashank Ahire is a Ph.D. candidate at Leibniz University Hannover, under the supervision of Michael Rohs and Wolfgang Neidl. His research area is Conversational User Interface, which consists of Human-Computer Interaction and Natural Language Processing.

Before this, he was an MRes student in Computer Science at Swansea University under the supervision of Prof. Matt Jones. His thesis topic was "Integrating Human and Artificial Intelligence Answers for the Smart Speakers" .

Also, he has worked as a Research Associate under Prof. Anirudha Joshi at IDC IIT Bombay. In this tenure, he researched in the area of Text Input, Accessibility, and Emerging technologies. In collaboration, he has published research papers at various international conferences like CHI, MobileHCI, INTERACT, and IndiaHCI.

September 2020- Bachelor student Amrit Gaire has succesfully completed his final project under his supervision.

August 2020- Awarded the certificate of completion for Master of Research in Computing and Future Interaction Technologies.

July 2020- Provocation paper "Tired of Wake Words? Moving Towards Seamless Conversations with Intelligent Personal Assistants" is published at CUI 2020.

July 2020- Completed seminar on Conversational User Interface and Machine Learning in summer semester 2020.

December 2019- Sucessfully defended his Master thesis on "Integrating Human and Artificial Intelligence Answers for the Smart Speakers"
